Sometimes a weekend away is all you need. A trip to Flagstaff sounded perfect for that. I think all the pictures speak for themselves.

Who you are
I can teach my kids so many things. It is rather overwhelming all the things I want my kids to know. There is no way to teach everything however. So I have decided to create a list of what is the most important.
Respect.
Respect is a form of love, and one that has been lost recently. Respect is something that I feel should be expected of everyone. How much could we change the world if we showed respect for every fellow man, every animal, and even the world it self?!
Gratitude.
Gratitude for everything. To not look at the negative part but always see the good. The best example, I have is the jokes going around about so much of America in welfare. Yes, there are people who abuse it. However, how lucky are to live in a country where we can better out situation, that the government not only encourage it but actually financially supports it?
Eternal perspective.
It is so easy to get lost in the moment. It is so easy to even get lost in our little part of the world. Constantly, we should push ourselves to learn from all parts of the world. Learn all beliefs that people hold dear. And most importantly learn more of God's plan. Not just His plan for ourselves, but for all mankind.
Character.
Many people know this is something that fascinates me. I have been reading a book called Quite by Susan Cain. So far, I love it. One thing she talks about in it is our societies focus on personality. We worry so much what others think about us rather then who we are. This is something I really need to work on! I just hope I can learn to teach my kids how important it is to be honorable at all times not just when people are watching.
Embrace.
I want them to embrace who they are. What makes them who they are. Embrace their gender, nationality, culture, beliefs, inner and outer beauty, and all parts of their life's. There is such beauty in every single person. Individuality is what makes us so special. It is easy to feel lost in the rest of the world but when we look all the things that make us special we will feel the impact we can have.
Knowledge.
Knowledge is power. Power to overcome trials. Power to better ourselves. I want them to love knowledge. Everyone receives knowledge in different ways. Some our 'book smart,' some are theory smart. Embrace what you want to learn. And be open to exploring all types of knowledge.
Work.
Work is what gives confidence. When we compete a task our confidence go up. So why don't we embrace work more often. Yes, it is easy to put off. But in the end our confidence is what gets hurt.
Service.
This kind of a repeat of the last one since service is a form of work. But it is one of the most confidence building types of work out there. Being helpful is not limited to large difficult tasks but can be as simple as opening a door, a smile to a stranger. And help shouldn't come with expectations of repayment or even acknowledgment. We should be comfortable enough helping, that the confidence we get from doing it is enough.
Forgiveness.
There is a quote from I believe Oprah that goes something like, forgiveness is accepting the past for what it was. It is not necessarily letting a person back in your life but moving on an accepting what happened.
That is not too long of a list to focus on, right?! I just hope by focusing on this will lead to so many other parts of their life's being in place.

Thoughts
Do you ever have so many thoughts that you have no idea where to begin?
You feel empowered by so much, but don't quite know where to start!
I love the 'classics' because I walk away feeling that way regularly. Problem with my pregnancies is my biggest passion, which is reading classics, I don't want to do. I miss that feeling of empowerment. I miss analyzing my life and myself with a new found perspective. Luckily, we live in a day and age of other forms of receiving empowering words and thoughts.
So many things recently have made this change in me. So many in fact that I can't seem to organize my thoughts or recover.
I also seem to walk away being so thankful for a plethora of things. The biggest thing I am thankful for is my knowledge and understanding of womanhood. And for having a husband who also has an amazing understanding.
There is nothing better then having a husband who cheers you on. A husband who knows the amazing power women hold and empowers me to embrace it daily. Who stands up for me at all times. Even if it means expecting a toddler to respect his wife at all times. There is nothing better then knowing my kids have an amazing example!
I am so thankful for the amazing women who have been so strong to break through the repression they have faced. Women who put their kids first to make a better tomorrow.
Want to feel empowered too?! Or even again?! I strongly recommend watching The Help, or PBS's Half The Sky. They are both honest documentaries. I have been so blessed!

Little AJ
We have been lucky for our last child to have an amazing Dr. office to go to. The reason it is awesome you may ask?? Well it is more like going to a salon then a doctor's office. They even gave me a free massage coupon. One of the places we are spoiled is with the most amazing Ultrasound machine I have ever seen! It leads to amazing pictures and video of our sweet boy. So this is just that... AJ's first photos and video (to come soon hopefully).
Another great thing is they are very kid friendly and wanted us to bring Red Panda and Lady Bug. The best part was how excited the two kiddos were to see baby. Whenever the technician switched from 2D to 3D both kids would point and yell, "BABY!" I wish we could have recorded them the whole time too. So 10 weeks to go and the excitement is building up like crazy! My nesting kicked in like crazy so everything is waiting ready for AJ's appearance. We are waiting our sweet boy... as patiently as we can.
