Southern Utah Trip
We figured this last weekend, being a four day weekend for Alex, it
would be perfect to escape little Rexburg and everyday life. So Richard,
Lori, Alex, Red Panda, and I all piled in Richard's van
and headed down to Kanab. What a blast we had!! It was about 9pm when
we actually got on the road and all night we drove arriving at our
destination at 6am. Uncle Fred
and Aunt Becky
were so hospital letting us stay in the barn since all their hotel
rooms were filled. Don't take the term 'barn' to mean your typical
sleeping in the hay with the horses and cows. Not this barn, it was
furnished with beds, shower, and even a toilet (no outhouse for us even
though there was one on the property.) Saturday we got up after our two
whole hours of sleep
and ventured out to Zions National Forest
.
There must have been twenty of us, some of Uncle Fred's kids and
grandkids, going in and out of shuttles from place to place. We went
swimming and hiking a little bit. It was a wonderful day. Sunday we went
to church, took a nap, and then out we went again this time to the
Grand Canyon.
Lori, Red Panda, and myself had never been there so it was nice to see,
and now we can say we have been there. Before we made it to the Grand
Canyon we went off-roading into some caves to make bottles of sand. You
scrape the walls of the cave into a bottle, moving periodically and in
the end you get a variety of layers different colors.
It was pretty fun and we made some pretty awesome bottles
. Early Monday we were up and ready to go to Lake Powell
,
the water was amazing. We went swimming for a few hours and then went
to visit Uncle Jesse. Later that afternoon the water was a little too
cold to go swimming. Well, I didn't think so but I was the only one so I
went swimming, Alex went to his waist (thank you for keeping me
company love), Lori went I think to her knees, and Richard and Red Panda
stayed completely dry
. We did however, play a game of volleyball
and badminton. Alex beat Lori and me in volleyball but Lori beat Alex
in badminton. By the time we got back to the barn we were ready to hit
the 'hay'sack. The trip came to an end as we left Tuesday... or you
would think. But on the way back up to Rexburg we stopped by Bryce
Canyon,
so beautiful! The we stopped in Salt Lake City to visit Uncle Ashley
and Aunt Blackie
.
We ate tacos and cookies and played a lot on the wii (which was what
finally pushed us to get one, I have been wanting one for years.) Then
back on the road until we got to Rexburg where we had to get back to
everyday life and get caught up in school :) But it will be a memorable
experience that is for sure.

Highchair
So a few weeks ago we started Red Panda on solids. It has been so fun
except one thing... a lack of a high chair. So we finally got one!!
Before we got it I was holding Red Panda on my lap and trying to get a
spoon full of rice cereal in his mouth... yeah it was entertaining.
Then I decided to try to be creative, I first tried his ExerSaucer.
Yeah once was enough to learn that would not work at all. Alex had to
take pictures of our mess.

I tried the swing and then finally just went back to holding him
on my lap. And then the good day came and we got a high chair!!! :)

Red Panda loves it so much he fell asleep while we were eating dinner.

Move
Well, we are officially in Idaho safe and sound. We love our
apartment and school is going great for both of us. Red Panda is amazing
us everyday at what he can accomplish and what a great blessing he is
in our lives. Here are some fun pics from the move and just in general.
So it took a few tries but we finally got a great four generation picture with Grandma Smith.

It took four months and a half months but Red Panda finally grew out of his new born clothes. So we had to take a picture of him in his blessing outfit one last time. Look at the difference!! (there is a post of him in it for his blessing earlier)

No bathtub... yeah that is right our new place has no bath tub. Thankfully we were given this blow up ducky from some friends and it does the trick plus Red Panda loves it!

Red Panda is found at park
It was a little cold but we decided to take Red Panda for a walk to
the park all bundled up. His first trip to the park was a success.
Whereas, I am sure we had more fun then he did, I think he enjoyed
himself a little bit. What a blessing he is to us. We are officially
moved into my parents spare room now, and boy do we miss our Sherwood
apartment! It will be interesting having three of us in one bedroom, but
I am sure we will have a great time being so close to my parents. Here
are some of the high lights from the park.
