Anyone who knows Red Panda knows what a special kid he is.
This morning I woke to hear him gasping, trying to just get a breath of air. As a baby he seemed to always be sick, it was not until he was 18 months-old when we found out he has asthma. And then it took over a year to get him on a medicine mixture that works.
This has been such a trial for this little active man. On top of the issues with asthma, while he was struggling to breath, he gave up on other things like talking and eating. This is very understandable.
But now he is aware of his lack of speech, it is embarrassing and very frustrating for him now. One amazing thing about our area is the programs for development delays and disabilities. Liam goes weekly to an hour session of speech and attends preschool through the local elementary with other kids who have a type of development delay, ranging in level.
Preschool has been the making of him. It was tough, very tough at first. But we figured it out by the end of the year.
Even though he will be in preschool for another 3 years, probably, they had a graduation ceremony for all the kids. It was so amazing to see his accomplishment through the school year.
He has had such of tough go from the start, and it has been difficult to watch at times.
But I am so thankful for this struggle because he is the strongest and sweetest kid you will ever meet!
And I know he will make it through to the end!
He is our sweet little man and we will always be here for him and his mommy and daddy.
